We’re heading to Devon today for a beautiful seaside destination wedding, and I’m so excited to share the coastal blue watercolour wedding stationery for a Chantel Lauren bride and her dashing groom that I created! Katie and John were married at the Castle Hotel in Woolacombe, which has been in their family for many years, and has now been given a second lease of life as an idyllic wedding venue in Devon with spectacular sea views. The couple came to me for their on the day wedding stationery. Katie wanted it to be designed to reflect her stunning blue Chantel Lauren dress, so we picked up on the blue colour and completed the look with dreamy watercolour details and whimsical script fonts.
The actual design of Katie and John’s luxury coastal wedding stationery came from my customisable Bee House Collection, which features a blue watercolour wash, elegant script fonts, and botanical illustrations. Throughout their wedding day stationery, the couple chose to incorporate sweet little quotes and sayings, starting with their order of service cards, which were printed with: “Of all the walks we’ve taken together this will be my favourite.” The quote was designed as the main feature on the cards, with the couple’s names and the names of their wedding party featured on the reverse side. It was a lovely way to set the tone for the day, and hint at the blue colour that featured throughout. Katie is a talented florist, and she picked up the same shade in the flower arrangements which she made herself, complementing it with gorgeous pink King Proteas.
One of the details I really loved was the table plan. Katie wanted something modern that would fit their coastal wedding, so I created a large hanging printed cotton fabric banner. It featured the same watercolour wash and botanical design as the rest of the wedding day stationery. The script fonts used for the table names looked especially romantic here!
The table names followed a similar design to the other stationery elements, helping to tie everything together. Like the order of service cards, the table names were quotes and sayings, which gave them a really personal touch. Aren’t these lovely?
“Maybe… it’s more than you’ll ever believe”
“Dream without fear, love without limits”
“A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new”
“Aim for the moon. If you miss, you may hit a star”
“What if I fall? Oh, but my darling, what if you fly?”
“Wherever life plants you, bloom with grace”
“The greater your storm, the brighter your rainbow”
