Pop the champagne! I’ve been looking forward to this day for such a long time, when I finally get to launch my brand new Calligraphy for Beginners Starter Kits and Video Guide. I can’t wait to start sending these out into the world!
Like Meghan Markle (who I recently discovered worked as a professional calligrapher when she was a struggling actress!), I have always loved modern calligraphy. I wanted to share this creative passion with others, especially beginner calligraphers. However, as a working mum myself, it was important to me to include those who don’t have the time to attend an in-person workshop. I decided to create a video tutorial, so that students could learn at their own pace and in the comfort of their homes. The short video covers all the basics of how to get started, techniques, and materials, as well as my own top calligraphy tips.
People often ask me which materials a beginner calligrapher needs to buy, so alongside the video guide, I also wanted to create a set of kits. These not only include the products I would recommend, but feel like a real treat. They’re the perfect Christmas gift from someone special, or better yet – treat yourself!
There are three different kits to choose from, all of which also include access to the video guide. These range from a basic package with just the essentials, to a deluxe pack with lots of fun materials you can play with.
Here’s what you’ll find inside each of them:
– Speedball Straight Pen Holder (moulded to show you where to grip the pen)
– Nikko G Nib (a medium flex nib perfect for beginners)
– Higgins Black Calligraphy Ink
– Practice Pad
– 10 Minute Video Guide
– Luxury Gift Box Packaging
Everything from the Advanced Kit PLUS…
– Manuscript Straight Holder (patterns may vary)
– Liquitex Professional Metallic Acrylic ink
– 2 Agate Slices (colours will vary)
– 2 Cotton Rag Paper Tags
– 2 Vellum Tags
Just think of all the beautiful things you can do with calligraphy: artistic envelopes and personal notes that make a big impression on the recipient, personalised artwork for family and friends, pretty gift tags, place cards for your next dinner party or event, unique greeting cards, and more! Calligraphy is also a great hobby to have as a creative outlet or way to relax. I know it can feel intimidating to start with, but these kits and video guide will get you started on the right track!
