Can you imagine anything more romantic than a beach elopement? Today I’m sharing this gorgeous styled shoot that was featured a couple of months ago on international blog, Hey Wedding Lady. Created by The Wildflower Wedding Planner and Ivory White Photography, it takes a light and airy coastal style as its starting point, with a palette of soft blues, greys, and pinks that mirror dusk on the ocean waves. Everything about it is dreamy, from the hand crafted cake to the boho chic bridal gown, to the bouquet with its white blooms and trailing ribbons that fluttered delicately in the sea air. The perfect inspiration for a coastal destination wedding – and a lovely fit for one of my favourite house collections, Bee!

As I mentioned, the shoot included my Bee House Collection for the invitation suite. I love that Bee is such a versatile design, at home in a variety of settings and seasons. Here, the ethereal blue watercolour wash and elegant script typography really complemented the soft fabrics and coastal setting of the shoot. A hand dyed silk ribbon tie and custom name tag were the perfect finishing touches. Bee is available as a digital print design, which makes it a great option for an intimate coastal destination wedding like this one!

Another element that I contributed to this collaboration was the capiz shell and blue agate slice calligraphy place settings. I loved how they looked on the low picnic table, decked with pastel florals and a blue silk runner. At each setting, the cutlery was tied with a blue silk ribbon and a sprig of fragrant rosemary, and then placed on the plate along with the capiz shell or agate slice. I can’t decide which look I prefer! I love the beachy nature of the shells, as well as their soft translucence, but the blue agate slices really pop. Both would be a great choice for a beach wedding – and you can order them directly from my shop!

One of the other details I liked from this shoot was the geometric wooden arch. Adorned with a burst of flowers, foliage and pampas grass, it was the perfect finishing touch for a free spirited beach ceremony. When you have a natural backdrop as pretty as this view of the Essex shore, you don’t need to go over the top. Focus on a mix of soft and slightly rustic natural textures to create visual interest, and stick to a palette of the palest pastels along with cool neutrals to recreate the look for your own beach elopement or coastal destination wedding.
