I’m so excited to share this gorgeous styled shoot that made the front cover of Ellwed Magazine in Greece. Featuring a Mediterranean coastal wedding style and geode detailing, it actually served as the primary inspiration for my Geo House Collection, and the Geo invitation suite is featured here. The team behind the shoot wanted to spotlight the beauty of Lefkada, one of the lesser known Ionian Islands. It’s the perfect location for a destination wedding in Greece! The palette incorporated the emerald green and copper colours of the island’s olive groves and plane trees, as well as its golden sands and turquoise waters. I also loved that it featured a mix of UK and Greek talent, since this kind of collaboration is so important in ensuring the success of any destination wedding!
As I mentioned, the shoot featured my Geo invitation, which is a great choice for a Mediterranean coastal destination wedding with a modern feel. The design also hints beautifully at geode details, if that’s something that you’re planning to include in your wedding design. The invitation is created in two layers: a clear vellum overlay with copper foiling over a geometric watercolour wash card. The two are then secured with a copper eyelet. The emerald envelopes really make them stand out in your guests’ post boxes, especially when they’re addressed with handwritten copper calligraphy.
Along with the invitation suite, I also created a menu with the same two-layer design, as well as agate crystal slices with hand-written calligraphy script. These were used on the tables as both place settings and favours, alongside traditional Greek coffee pots called ‘briki’ that were planted with a succulent as a living reminder of the wedding day. Agate slices really add a beautiful luxury touch to your tables, and are the kind of keepsake that guests love to take with them as a memento of a special destination wedding. Agate also adds an extra textural element. In this case, it perfectly complemented the natural tones and textures of the outdoor dining area, including wood, leaf, and terracotta.
