FAQs

With so much to plan, it can be difficult to know what sort of time frames you should be working to and if you’ve never ordered paper goods before you might not know what’s involved with custom stationery. These FAQs should help you out, but if you’re still looking for answers, just drop me a line and I’d love to chat things through with you.

When should I send my save the dates and invitations?

There is no set rule on when you should send out your invitations but it’s a good idea to send your save the dates approximately 12 months before your wedding and formal invitations about 6-9 months before. This gives your guests time to respond and make their own arrangements, plus it means you have plenty of time before having to confirm final numbers with your wedding venue and other suppliers.

Do I have to send out save the date cards?

It isn’t essential to send save the date cards but it is a thoughtful way of giving your guests plenty of notice and build some anticipation. It also gives you a bit of a breather to plan the details, safe in the knowledge your guests have the date in their diaries.

Do you offer special print finishes such as foiling and letterpress?

Oh yes! I’m a bit obsessed with gorgeous print finishes and you can see examples of gold foiling and letterpress throughout the website. The customisable collections are flat printed to suit all budgets, but if you are interested in adding a touch of luxe just get in touch and we can have a chat about how that would work and the costs involved. Please note there is a minimum order of 50 for each item if opting for this type of print.

I love one of your designs but I want to change something. Can I do this?

Absolutely! I offer a semi-custom design service which uses one of my existing collections as a base design, with the addition of some custom elements to make your stationery unique. This could be a venue illustration, a personalised map or perhaps a different print finish. There is a design fee for semi-custom options which is usually around £125 – £150 depending on the complexity of the project.

How long does it take to get my order?

This really depends on the design work involved and the print production. For one of the flat print customised invitations it usually takes about 4 weeks from the design start date to receiving the final prints. For letterpress and foil stamping it can take a few weeks longer due to the set up required for printing. For bespoke orders you can expect to receive your finished order within 8 – 12 weeks, depending on the print finish you would like and how fast feedback is received once you’ve received the digital proofs.

Will I see proofs?

You sure will! For all printed stationery orders, up to 3 digital pdf proofs will be sent to you for approval. Once you receive your proofs it is really important that you check all text is correct as any changes required after they’ve been sent to the printers will be charged a re-run print fee. Flat print proofs can also be provided at an additional cost of £35 per item. Print proofs are not available for luxury finishes such as letterpress or foiling.

How will I receive my stationery?

I love putting together the final suite of invitations and your order will be carefully packed with love and presented in a well wrapped, protective box. It is then posted using a signed for service and can be delivered to any mainland UK postal address or overseas on request. As the size of each order is different, the postage cost varies and the price for delivery will be included on your quote.

How many invitations should I order?

The good news is that you only need to order enough invitations per household, not per guest! It’s a good idea to order a few additional invitations just in case there are any changes to your guest list. I recommend ordering 10% more than you need so you have enough spares. It’s also nice to have one as a keepsake and for your photographer to photograph on the wedding day.

Due to the print set up costs there are minimum orders required for all printed wedding stationery which are detailed on my product pages. If you do need to order additional invitations at a later date just get in touch and I’ll see what I can do.

Are envelopes included in the price?

Complementary envelopes are included with all invitations, save the dates and reply cards (unless the reply card is a postcard style). Envelope liners are available to purchase for selected customisable ranges and of course can always be added for any bespoke order.

Do you put the invitation suites together?

My standard prices are for the prints only, however if you love how the design has been shown with the finishing touches I recommend, I can also put your invitation suites together for an assembly fee and cost of accessories required. All pricing is on the relevant product pages. Alternatively there is an option if you would prefer to assemble your invitations yourselves. This includes all materials for that chosen design as displayed on the product pages.

I have my own table plan that I’d like you to write the calligraphy on. Is this something you offer?

I love to write up table plans and have attended multiple weddings to write on various materials. Ideally I like to work from my home office where I can fit these in around my other projects but this isn’t always an option. I will happily travel within 15 miles of Bicester, Oxfordshire to a venue to write on a table plan set up on the morning of the wedding. Travel expenses are charged and calculated for the initial quote.

How long does it take to create the brand identity packages?

Depending on your requirements and my current projects, you can expect to receive the initial design concepts within 3-4 weeks of booking. I then like to meet up or arrange a Skype/FaceTime call for a chat to discuss the concepts before working on the final logo design and other brand elements. In total it usually takes 6-8 weeks from ordering to receiving your full brand identity package.
