Terms and conditions

The Small Print

Weddings

Please carefully read the following Terms and Conditions and make sure you understand them before placing your order with White Olive Design Studio.

These Terms and Conditions will apply to any order for the sale of goods and services from White Olive Design Studio. By sending payment of your deposit you are confirming you agree to these Terms and Conditions, at which point a contract will come into existence between you and White Olive Design Studio. Until payment has been received, acknowledging you accept these Terms and Conditions, White Olive Design Studio will not be able to supply goods or services to you.

All orders placed with White Olive Design Studio will be subject to these Terms and Conditions. White Olive Design Studio reserves the right to cancel an order at any stage should any of the Terms and Conditions not be adhered to.

TIMINGS

Once your order has been placed with receipt of your deposit/full payment, White Olive Design Studio (WO) will provide you with a date for when the design process is due to commence and at which stage any remaining payment is due. It is important that you notify WO immediately if you are unable to work to the schedule as any delay in supplying feedback, providing copy or approving proofs/artwork may result in a delay to your order.

White Olive Design Studio aim to complete orders as soon as possible but as a guide please allow the following timelines for orders:

Customisable designs –  the design and print turnaround is 4 – 6 weeks for all customisable House Collection designs, this includes semi-custom designs. Orders should ideally be placed 2 months before you wish to send out your save the dates or invitations so your order can be scheduled in advance.

Bespoke design service – bespoke design turnaround times vary depending on the complexity of the design and print finish. It is advised that for a bespoke design you place your order at least 3 – 4 months before you wish to send out your save the dates or invitations. The design process takes approximately 9 – 10 weeks but can be more during busy periods.

Wedding day stationery – depending on the number of items to design and the finish it is advised that all wedding day stationery is ordered no later than 8 weeks prior to your wedding date. I aim to have orders delivered no later than 1 week prior to the wedding date but this is only possible where enough notice has been provided and the required information/feedback has been provided on time.

RUSH ORDERS

If your order is required within a 4 week period, depending on the schedule in the studio this may be considered a rush job. All rush jobs are subject to an additional charge of 30% or £100, whichever is higher, which will be added to your final bill.

QUOTES & PAYMENTS

Upon approval of the quote sent by White Olive Design Studio a non-refundable deposit of £100 for customisable designs (or the full balance, whichever is less) or the full design fee for bespoke or semi-custom design orders will be required before any design work can begin. An invoice for the deposit will be sent by WO.

All quotes are valid for 30 days and WO cannot be held responsible for any price increases due to supplier costs increasing.

Once final proofs have been approved the remainder of the balance will be due before printing will begin.

All costs are quoted in and are to be paid in pounds sterling by bank transfer. Payment details will be provided on the invoice sent by WO.

WO cannot be held responsible for any delay to delivery as a result of late payment.

PROOFS & ARTWORK

Digital proofs will be sent via email, unless specifically requested. Great care is taken to ensure all information is accurate, however it is ultimately the responsibility of the customer to check layout, copy, spelling and grammar. If designs are approved with type errors and subsequently printed WO takes no responsibility, and will not be liable for any resulting cost. If replacements are required, then they will be charged for in full. It is therefore of the upmost importance that you check all spelling and copy thoroughly before approving any designs.

Please note that the colour on your screen may differ from printed colour, each screen is calibrated differently and this is particularly noticeable on mobile devices. Please bear in mind that printers also vary and that your final stationery will be printed on the highest quality professional printers therefore the colours may differ slightly.

If ordering a combination of letterpress or foil stamping as well as digitally printed items, please be aware that it may not be possible to exactly match the colours due to the variation in each print technique. If pantone colour targets have been specified this is just a visual guide and it is not possible to accurately match Pantone colours using a digital CMYK print process.

Design and proofing takes time and this has been factored in to the cost. WO will provide up to 3 free digital proofs and up to 2 proof revisions for each order, thereafter proofs will be charged at £30.00 each. It is recommended that you carefully check the design and content and clearly notify WO of any information that needs to be amended straight away.

CALLIGRAPHY

Due to the nature of calligraphy, each piece of artwork is hand drawn/written before being digitised and used in your artwork. Bookings for any WO calligraphy are placed with the understanding that each element is created by hand and may vary in style from one piece to the next. Addressed envelopes will vary slightly in style and layout. For orders of printed stationery containing any calligraphy elements, further changes to the calligraphy may incur an additional design fee due to the time it takes to re-write and digitise the artwork.

MINIMUM ORDERS

There is a minimum order of 35 invitations or Save the Date cards due to the time involved in creating artwork and printer minimum quantities. There is a minimum order of 50 (of each item) for all letterpress or hot foil prints.

It is advisable to order both day and evening invitations at the same time to avoid any additional special order fees. If an additional order is received for fewer than 35 of an item, a special order fee will apply.

On The Day Stationery (e.g. Order of Service, menus, place names etc) is only available to customers who also purchase Before The Day Stationery (Save the Dates and invitation packs).

 BRANDING

 TIMINGS

Once your order has been placed White Olive Design Studio (WO) will provide you with a timeline to show when each stage of the process is due to commence and at which stage payment is due. It is important that you notify WO immediately if you are unable to work to the schedule as any delay in supplying feedback, providing copy or approving proofs/artwork may result in a delay to your order.

White Olive Design Studio aim to complete orders as soon as possible but as a guide please allow 6 – 10 weeks from ordering to receiving your completed brand identity package.

Tighter timescales can be achieved but this may incur a rush fee. Please mention your timescale at your initial enquiry.

 QUOTES & PAYMENTS

Upon approval of the quote sent by White Olive Design Studio a non-refundable deposit of the full design fee will be required before any design work can begin. An invoice for the deposit will be sent by WO.

If you choose to opt to add on any printed stationery, once the final proofs have been approved the remainder of the balance will be due before printing will begin.

All costs are quoted in and are to be paid in pounds sterling by bank transfer. Payment details will be provided on the invoice sent by WO.

WO cannot be held responsible for any delay to delivery as a result of late payment.

PROOFS & ARTWORK

For all brand design packages you will receive digital design proofs throughout the process as detailed on the package info on the product page. Digital proofs will be sent via email, unless specifically requested. Great care is taken to ensure all information is accurate, however it is ultimately the responsibility of the customer to check layout, copy, spelling and grammar of any brand names and subheadings. If stationery designs are approved with type errors and subsequently printed WO takes no responsibility, and will not be liable for any resulting cost. If replacements are required, then they will be charged for in full. It is therefore of the upmost importance that you check all spelling and copy thoroughly before approving any designs.

Please note that the colour on your screen may differ from printed and digital colour, each screen is calibrated differently and this is particularly noticeable on mobile devices.

It is therefore advisable to view your proofs and any final artwork on a calibrated screen before giving your approval.

For any printed materials, if pantone colour targets have been specified this is just a visual guide and it is not possible to accurately match Pantone colours using a digital CMYK print process.

Design and proofing takes time and this has been factored in to the cost. WO will provide up to 3 initial design concepts as digital proofs and up to 2 proof revisions for the final logo design, thereafter proofs will be charged a design fee. It is recommended that you carefully check the design and content and clearly notify WO of any information that needs to be amended straight away.

When creating your designs, it is important that you have a good idea of what you are looking for AND that you fully understand who your ideal target client is. Without knowing this it can cause lots of extra work (for both you and I) so to avoid additional fees for extra design proofs please ensure you have done your homework on your ideal client and prepared mood boards etc to identify who that client is.

CALLIGRAPHY FOR BRANDING

Due to the nature of calligraphy, each piece of artwork is hand drawn/written before being digitised and used in your artwork. Bookings for any WO calligraphy are placed with the understanding that each element is created by hand and may vary in style from one piece to the next. Additional changes to the calligraphy elements following the first final design proof may incur an additional design fee due to the time it takes to re-write and digitise the artwork.

SHOP ORDERS
Please note all personalised stationery and wax seal orders placed via the shop are made to order and non-refundable. Colours of items may vary from that shown on the shop page as printed/finished items in real life will always differ slightly and screen colour settings will be different on each device. Please note that wax seals are made to order and the wax is ordered for each batch. Colours may vary between batches due to the pigmentation process so if placing a repeat order for the same colour at a later date WO cannot be held responsible for any slight variations in colour.

Agate slices are all natural stone and shapes, textures, sizes and colours will vary as no two pieces are the same. The colours shown in the shop listing are for a guide on what you can expect to receive.
