Anouska and Ben were married in an exquisite autumn wedding at the magnificent Elmore Court, in shades of copper, emerald, and soft neutrals to complement the season. They approached me to create their wedding day stationery and signage. Their wedding style combined gorgeous organic and antique elements with modern touches, which beautifully complemented their country house venue. I reflected this in the stationery and signage, with romantic calligraphy contrasting with sleek minimalism. I loved how it all came together!

Having discussed various options for the table stationery with the couple, I came up with the idea of personalised calligraphy menus. These acted as a sort of all-in-one place setting with the guest’s name, the menu, and a word of thanks from the bride and groom. I hand lettered each guest’s name at the top of each menu card using fine copper ink. The rest of the menu was printed in dark grey, which gave the stationery a softer, but still sophisticated look. Anouska made some copper wax seals herself and added these along with a sprig of fragrant rosemary to each place setting. It looked really lovely, especially combined with the eucalyptus garlands they had running down the centre of the table and the warm glow of candlelight that picked up the copper detailing perfectly.

For the signage, I used clear acrylic sheets with white ink printing. The order of the day sign was displayed on an easel, while the table plan was hung from a large freestanding copper pipe stand. It was adorned with eucalyptus foliage and surrounded by candles in simple glass jars. So pretty! I loved the way that the copper stand reflected the copper calligraphy in the place settings.

Finally, I also created a smaller acrylic sign that said: ‘Tequila may not be the answer but it’s worth a shot!’ This was placed on a table with shot glasses and chilled tequila. Guests were invited to take a shot before taking their seats in lieu of favours. It went down a storm!

Congratulations Anouska and Ben, and thank you for trusting me with your vision!
