Although I create a lot of stationery designs for destination weddings, it’s always a pleasure to see the White Olive Design Studios collections feature in a quintessentially British countryside wedding like this one! Elle and Harry were married in late summer at The Manor Barn in Wiltshire in a wedding that was as pretty as it was fun (hello, glitter bar!). They opted for my Eucalyptus house collection design as a semi-custom option, and added their own twist. The Eucalyptus watercolour and calligraphy wedding stationery was the perfect complement to their relaxed rustic style!
For the invitations, we altered the original landscape Eucalyptus design to a portrait style. I also made changes to the font and layout to add a more relaxed, romantic aspect. The soft palette of green and white and hand painted Eucalyptus spray illustrations hinted at the gorgeous greenery and florals that filled the barn on the wedding day, giving it a very natural feel. Elle chose to assemble her invitations herself, and tied the suites together with Baker’s twine. They were finished off with a cotton rag tag which featured the same monogram wreath that appeared on the reverse of the invitations.
The monogram was also a feature in some of the on the day wedding stationery, which I custom designed to complement the invitations. All the stationery featured the same textured cardstock and watercolour eucalyptus sprays, but had additional handwritten calligraphy and layering detail. Elle and Harry named each of their tables after a place that had meaning for them. The table plan was made up of individual cards with handwritten calligraphy on a vellum layer. This was beautifully displayed in an empty frame, together with real greenery tied with ribbon. The menus also featured the Eucalyptus design, and Elle added a personal touch with her own calligraphy on cotton rag and vellum place setting tags. There were matching order of service booklets, which were handed out before the ceremony.
The thing I love about working with wedding stationery is that every finished suite is different, even if it starts with one of the House Collections (as Elle and Harry’s did). Each one of the designs can be adapted to suit a particular theme or style, from colour and font changes and layout alterations to different assembly options. If you’re planning a wedding in the UK or abroad, get in touch and let’s create something that is perfectly you!
