This gorgeous couple had the kind of destination wedding in France that dreams are made of! Using the gorgeous Château de Massillan in Provence as their wedding weekend base, they planned a series of events over three days with their close friends and family to celebrate their union. These included a Spanish inspired fiesta evening the night before the evening, with dinner, dancing, and music, as well as a brunch and pool party the day after. I loved how Danielle and Andrew used the different outdoor spaces for ceremony, reception, and everything in between, taking advantage of the beautiful light and summery weather to have the whole wedding ‘en plein air’. I loved creating a customised version of my Bee House Collection for their invitation, as well as a series of calligraphy event stationery pieces that finished off the elegant décor beautifully.
The Bee House Collection was a perfect fit for this lovely Provence destination wedding, gently reflecting the soft colours and organic textures of the setting and decor. Your invitation should always give guests a feel for the wedding itself, and this one did just that! To customise it to Danielle and Andrew’s style and colours, we changed the standard blue watercolour wash to a cool pistachio, and added luxurious silver hot foiling as a final detail. The invitation was finished with a silver eyelet and personalised with a name tag attached with a green waxed cord tie.
The pre-wedding ‘siesta’ evening looked like such fun! Guests gathered in the courtyard to enjoy a meal at long tables decked with white tablecloths and silver pails filled with herbs, flowers, and fresh vegetables. The palette was a Spanish-inspired collection of orange, red, pink, and green, so we incorporated these colours into the individual calligraphy place card tags with inks in those shades. It looked so pretty! There were also two table plan cards, which the couple suspended from the olive trees with colourful ribbons.
The wedding day itself was even more gorgeous. From the ceremony beneath a rose-decked arch with the chateau turrets in the background, to the outdoor reception, it was stunning. Long tables draped with floral runners surrounded a central fountain, with silver hurricane lanterns and twine wrapped napkins completed the simple, organic look. The couple asked me to create green agate place settings with silver calligraphy names on them, which made the prettiest finishing touch (as well as a fun keepsake!). Individual menus were created to complement the invitation design. I also produced a set of clear acrylic signage with white ink, which were used for the mimosa bar, card table, photo guest book sign, and table plan. Guests also received matching welcome notes and printed itineraries in their rooms on arrival – a great idea for destination wedding stationery!
